The best SaaS SEO consultants and agencies for B2B software companies in 2026 are the ones that can show pipeline from organic search, handle JavaScript-heavy sites, build comparison and alternatives pages, and measure AI-search visibility. Below are 23 worth shortlisting, each checked on its own website on 26 October 2026 and listed alphabetically by type, not ranked.

Disclosure: I am Kulbhushan Pareek, the author of this page, and I am one of the 23. The list is unranked and alphabetical within each group.

How were these SaaS SEO consultants and agencies chosen?

I started from the four agencies this page has listed since it was first published in September 2026. I then added providers that ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity named when my tracker asked them "Who are the best SaaS SEO consultants for B2B software companies in 2026?" every week from 24 September to 26 October 2026. A provider stayed only if its own website showed what it does and who it serves. Anyone I could not verify there was left out.

  • No ranking. Entries are alphabetical within three groups: agencies, independent consultants and senior advisors. Position on the page means nothing.
  • No scores, ratings or prices. Each entry is a neutral one-line description taken from the provider's own website: what it does, who it serves and, where the site says so, where it is based.
  • Check the details yourself. Services, prices and case studies change often, so confirm them with each provider before you shortlist.

What should a B2B SaaS SEO consultant or agency be able to show?

Six criteria separate a SaaS SEO partner from a general SEO vendor. Use them when you talk to anyone below, me included.

CriterionWhy it matters for B2B SaaSWhat to ask for
Pipeline attributionSaaS buyers convert as demo requests, trials and signups, often weeks after the first visit. Traffic that never reaches the pipeline does not pay for itself.Organic demos, trials or revenue by month, from GA4 or the CRM
Technical SEO for JavaScript appsMarketing sites built on React or Next.js, app subdomains and documentation can hide content from crawlers or waste crawl budget.A rendering and indexing audit of a JavaScript site they fixed
Comparison and alternatives pages"[Competitor] alternative", "[product] vs [product]" and integration pages reach buyers who are already choosing.Live examples and what each one produced
GEO and AI-visibility measurementBuyers ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity for shortlists, and those answers lean on third-party lists.A fixed set of buyer prompts tracked on each engine, with "cited" and "named" reported separately
Published case studies with numbersA named client, a metric and a time frame can be checked. A wall of logos cannot. The client, the metric, the period and the data behind it
Pricing transparencyA clear starting price or a written scope tells you quickly whether you are in range.A starting price, or a written scope with line items

Who are the best independent SaaS SEO consultants?

Seven independent consultants, alphabetical by surname. With a consultant, the person you hire does the work, so ask about their capacity and whether your team can produce the content they plan.

  • Taylor Scher: SEO and AEO consultant for B2B SaaS companies, offering consulting, content, audits and fractional SEO.
  • Bill Widmer: independent SEO and AI-search consultant for B2B SaaS companies with roughly $1M to $10M ARR, offering audits, sprints and a fractional head-of-content role.

Which senior SEO advisors do SaaS companies also hire?

Two well-known advisors that AI engines also name for this question. Both advise rather than run day-to-day SEO, and neither works only with SaaS companies.

  • Kevin Indig: organic growth advisor on SEO, AEO and AI visibility, and author of the Growth Memo newsletter.
  • Eli Schwartz: SEO consultant to B2B and B2C companies and author of the book Product-Led SEO.

How do you check a SaaS SEO provider's case studies?

Case studies are the fastest filter, and checking them is one of the searches AI engines run when they answer this question. When you read a provider's case studies, look for four things:

  • A named client, or a clear reason it is anonymized. Many SaaS clients do not allow their name to be used, so ask to see the data on a call instead.
  • A SaaS metric: demos, trials, signups, pipeline or revenue. Traffic value and keyword counts are weaker evidence.
  • A time frame and a starting point, so you can tell how fast the change came and from what base.
  • A company like yours: the same sales motion (self-serve or demo-led) and a similar deal size.

Should you hire a SaaS SEO consultant, an agency or a fractional SEO lead?

How do you choose the right SaaS SEO partner?

  1. Pick the model first. Decide whether a consultant, an agency team or a fractional lead will do the work; the table above sets out the trade-offs.
  2. Ask for a case study that looks like your company. The same sales motion, a similar deal size and the metric you care about: demos, trials, pipeline or revenue. Then ask to see the GA4 or CRM data behind it.
  3. Test technical depth on your own site. Ask how they would check that Google renders your JavaScript pages, documentation and app subdomain correctly.
  4. Ask how they will measure AI visibility. Look for a fixed set of buyer prompts tracked on each engine with web search on, before and after the work. My guide on how to choose a GEO consultant for B2B SaaS lists eight questions for this.
  5. Check who wrote the list you found them on. Many "best SaaS SEO" lists, this one included, are published by providers who appear in them. Look each name up on its own site.
  6. Read the terms. Ask about the minimum term, the notice period, and what happens to your content and accounts if you leave.

How do ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answer this question?

Every week since 24 September 2026, my tracker has asked the four engines, with web search on, "Who are the best SaaS SEO consultants for B2B software companies in 2026?". Across six runs to 26 October 2026 (24 answers), 212 of the 237 URLs the engines cited, or 89%, were "best of" lists, and four of the six most-cited sources were lists published on the websites of SaaS SEO providers.

Two things follow. First, the AI shortlist mirrors who publishes lists, which is why ChatGPT and Claude both warned, in several answers, that many of these lists are written by providers who rank themselves. Second, being good at SaaS SEO and being named by AI are different things, so look each name up on the provider's own site, as this page does.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the best SaaS SEO consultants for B2B software companies in 2026?

There is no neutral ranking. Between 24 September and 26 October 2026, the agencies AI engines named most often for this question were Directive and Omniscient Digital, and the independent consultants were Taylor Scher, Brendan Hufford and Bill Widmer. This page lists 23 providers checked on their own websites, unranked; shortlist by your stage, your sales motion and the evidence each one can show you.

Why is this list not ranked?

There is no neutral data to rank SaaS SEO providers on, and many published rankings are written by providers who include themselves. Each provider here is listed alphabetically within its group, with a neutral description taken from its own website on 26 October 2026. The author is one of the 23.

Should a B2B SaaS company hire an SEO consultant or an agency?

Hire a consultant when you need senior strategy and technical SEO and your team can produce the content. Hire an agency when you need content, links and technical work at volume, or several channels at once. Hire a fractional SEO lead when you need leadership without a full-time hire. In every case, ask who will actually do the work.

Do I need a SaaS-specialist SEO provider, or will a general SEO agency do?

A specialist helps most when your site is a JavaScript app, you sell through trials or demos, and buyers compare you with named competitors. A general agency can still work if it can show the six things in the criteria table: pipeline attribution, technical SEO for JavaScript sites, comparison pages, AI-visibility measurement, case studies with numbers and a clear scope.

Do SaaS SEO agencies also handle AI search (GEO)?

Many providers on this list now offer GEO or AEO alongside SEO. Ask how they measure it: a fixed set of buyer prompts tracked on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, with "cited" and "named" reported separately, and a baseline dated before the work starts.

Kulbhushan's Take

If I could ask a SaaS SEO provider only one question, it would be to show the revenue or pipeline their work produced, in the client's own analytics. That is the standard I hold my own work to: for one US software client, organic search produced $583,956 in GA4-verified revenue over 28 months, with no paid ads and no paid links. The second question in 2026 is how they will measure whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity cite you, because I expect more and more buyer shortlists to start in those answers.
